The Ministerio de Economía (MECON) is the Ministry of Economy in Argentina. The MECON is responsible for the development and implementation of economic policies in Argentina. This includes managing macroeconomic stability, promoting economic growth and competitiveness, and supporting the development of small and medium-sized enterprises. The MECON also plays a key role in implementing policies aimed at reducing poverty and promoting equality.

This dataset includes monthly inflation expectations. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) measures the variation in the general level of retail prices for a set of goods and services that represent household consumption over a specific period. In the REM, the indices surveyed from the July 2017 survey onwards are four: the general level and core CPI at the national level as produced by INDEC, the general level of the CPI-GBA (Greater Buenos Aires), and the core CPI-GBA —until the end of 2017—. The "Reference" variable refers to the unit of measurement for economic variables while the "Period" variable indicates the time period for the projected or estimated value.

This dataset includes monthly information on the nominal exchange rate. The BCRA publishes daily the Reference Exchange Rate - Communication "A" 3500 (Wholesale) in pesos per dollar. The variable to be surveyed is the average (simple) nominal exchange rate for business days (TCNPM), in pesos per dollar, which is derived from that same information. The "Referencia" variable refers to the unit of measurement for economic variables while the "Período" variable indicates the time period for the projected or estimated value.


Monetary - Argentina - BCRA - REM - Exchange Rate Expectations

This dataset includes monthly information on interest rate expectations. The interest rate (BADLAR) is defined as the weighted average interest rate by amount, corresponding to 30- to 35-day fixed-term deposits in private banks, each over one million pesos, for the requested month. In the REM, this has been surveyed since the January 2020 survey. During 2016, the interest rate of the Central Bank’s Bills (LEBAC) in pesos for a 35-day term, as announced by the BCRA in its last Monetary Policy Council communication each month, was surveyed. Starting in January 2017, the rate used was the peso rate for 7-day Repurchase Agreements (Pase) and, from the August 2018 survey through December 2019, it was the interest rate in the primary market for the Central Bank’s Liquidity Bills (LELIQ) for 7 days or the closest term. The "Referencia" variable refers to the unit of measurement for economic variables while the "Período" variable indicates the time period for the projected or estimated value.


Monetary - Argentina - BCRA - REM - Interest Rate Expectations

This dataset contains monthly data from the Market Expectations Survey (REM) published by the Central Bank. The variables include the FOB value of goods exports (millions of USD) for each month and their cumulative value for the calendar year,  as well as the CIF value of goods imports (millions of USD) for each month and their annual cumulative value. The "Reference" variable refers to the unit of measurement for economic variables while the "Period" variable indicates the time period for the projected or estimated value.

This dataset contains monthly data from the Market Expectations Survey (REM) published by the Central Bank.
The REM collects annual forecasts of the primary balance of the Non-Financial Public Sector (SPNF) on a cash basis, measured in billions of current pesos. The "Referencia" variable refers to the unit of measurement for economic variables while the "Período" variable indicates the time period for the projected or estimated value.

This dataset contains monthly data from the Market Expectations Survey (REM) published by the Central Bank. The variables include the seasonally adjusted variation of real GDP at constant prices between the requested quarter and the immediately preceding quarter, as well as the annual average variations of the same variable. The "Reference" variable refers to the unit of measurement for economic variables while the "Period" variable indicates the time period for the projected or estimated value.
